SFL at the BBC Proms

Stunning LED screens and HD projection at the BBC Proms.

As the official AV partner to the Royal Albert Hall SFL are privileged to work in the UK’s most prestigious venue for a wide variety of events, including the annual BBC Proms season. While classical music will always be at the heart of the Proms, recent seasons have seen a growing number of events relying upon audio-visuals to compliment musical performances, particularly those events aimed at engaging younger audiences.
SFL supplied screens for the Ten Pieces Prom, a fantastic collaboration of ten original pieces of music from students all around the UK. They utilized a total of 17 screens located around the venue to ensure that every member of the audience could clearly see the stunning content.

SFL also supplied screens for the world famous Last Night of the Proms, the Sherlock Prom and the Life Stories prom with Sir David Attenborough.

For the Life Stories prom they also supplied the complete playback solution which comprised on multiple video files and audio multi track files (including click) all synced together to ensure the video content stayed in time with the orchestra. SFL utilised their new dual Mac Pro rack to control this element of the solution.

They delivered a stunning central LED screen along with four large projector screens powered by Barco HDX W20 and Canon XEED WUX 6000’s projectors for all round visibility throughout the venue.
The 3.9mm pixel pitch digiLED HRi is one of the latest investments within the group, enabling us to deliver incredible hi-resolution images with the brightness and intensity only available on this scale from LED.
