SFL install massive widescreen

SFL take on huge video install at Jesus House with amazing results. Jesus House is an exciting dynamic church in London’s Brent Cross; It has a diverse and growing congregation who meet to praise and worship using practical Bible-based teachings.

SFL were approached by the multimedia manager at Jesus House, Ayo Olunloyo to scope and deliver their new cutting edge multimedia system. Ayo had been to see various other projects that SFL had provided for a number of churches across the UK, including the Analog-way widescreen blended system at Hillsong Church London. It became clear straight away that this was going to be an installation which would need to meet the highest production values.

The finished solution needed to be capable of providing all of the following options at the same time:

Moving backdrop across the whole screen
Songword overlay across the whole screen
04 x PIP’s (Picture in Picture)
01 x Logo Display

It was also important that the installation kept the integrity of the building. To this end all support trusses for the screens and projectors were installed above the false ceiling.

After a number of meetings SFL proposed a massive 11m x 3m widescreen soft edge blend solution utilising Barco Screenpro II control. Therefore continuing our ongoing relationship with Barco products using both the screen Pro II and Encore systems for live events. SFL worked closely with Barco UK & the technical director of Folsom (Barco USA).

By taking this approach SFL were able to realise the full potential of the Screen Pro II system. DVI fibre optic cables we used to link the control surfaces to the projectors, this ensured that the maximum quality to screen was achieved and no signal loss was maintained throughout the system. The projectors are all operated via the Christie NET control system.

A custom high specification built PC was commission that included a quad head graphics card and 06 x 17′ TFT preview monitors. The system also provided an output to the existing Analog-Way centrix seamless switcher which now manages the switching for the various plasma screens positioned throughout the building.

Equipment in the installation included:

03 x Barco Screen Pro II HD seamless switchers with Blending capacity
01 x Barco Screen Pro II remote controller
01 x Barco Blend Pro II
03 x Christie 12,000 lumen projectors
06 x 15′ DVI preview monitors
03 x 100m DVI fibre optic

Once the system was installed SFL provided onsite training for the dedicated team of volunteer operators that dedicate their time each week to facilitate the services. With this project now complete SFL are looking forward and excited about working with Jesus House in the future.
